Why is Frieren different?
What happens after the hero defeats the demon king? Most stories end there, but Frieren starts exactly after that, and that already makes it different.
Who is Frieren?
Frieren is an elf mage who has lived for centuries in a world full of magic and different races. Instead of powerful spells, she prefers simple and “useless” magic, making her different from other magicians who only seek power. She was also part of the hero’s party that defeated the demon king, in a journey for 10 years.
Time and regret
At first, Frieren didn’t think much about it, but then it hits her. Those 10 years meant almost nothing. But for her human friends, it was their whole life. When they start to age and die, she realizes she never really valued those moments.
A New Journey
Now with new characters like Fern and Stark, she starts a new journey. This time is not about saving the world, I see it more as a personal journey, where she tries to understand people and deal with her regrets.
Final Thoughts
For me, Frieren is not just a fantasy story. It’s more about time, memories, and learning to appreciate people while we still can.
